Prevent Chest Acne
Preventing chest acne is a much better solution than having to remedy it after a breakout. Chest acne is more commonly present in women than in men 54% to 40% by comparison. This includes zits, cysts, whiteheads and blackheads. It also presents more often in the summer months due to the sports clothing and undergarments that are worn during the warm weather. Sweat collects in the chest area through this clothing causing more flare ups. You can prevent chest acne by following a few basic rules like the following.
Preventing Chest Acne Tips
Hygiene
Keeping your chest clean and dry as much as possible is important in the prevention of outbreaks. It is important to keep your pores clean as this is where zits, pimples, blemishes, acne or whatever you call these flare ups occur.
1. Sweat creates a great environment for bacteria that in turn mixes with the oil (sebum) in your pores and clogs the pores. It is especially important to shower and cleanse areas in which you sweat to clear away whatever is clogging your pores. This could mean you need to shower more than once a day to effectively prevent chest acne.
2. You may like to use body powder to help you stay dry, or lotions to moisturize your skin. Too much use of powders and lotions clog the pores and causes a breakout of acne.
3. Masks made from charcoal or mud should be applied a couple of times a week to get rid of deep dirt that gets down into your pores.
4. The clothes you wear is another key that can help prevent chest acne. Tight clothing allows sweat and debris to get deep inside your pores which causes clogging and acne. Loose-fitting clothes made from natural materials like cotton are the best for summer. This will allow your skin to breathe and allows sweat room to disperse.
5. Certain detergents and skin cleansers can cause irritation and clogging that can create acne. If you have sensitive skin, make sure to use hypoallergenic products for cleansing.
These are pretty basic and easy to follow guidelines that will help you to prevent chest acne and keep your skin clear and summer-ready.
